About

Hi! It’s me, Alison.
I’m a mom living in Ontario, Canada.

I first became a mom right before the world locked down due to Covid in 2020. My husband and I welcomed our first child in early 2020, and two weeks after she was born the world shutdown because of a global pandemic (aka Covid). So as a first time mom, I had very limited access to any outside resources to help me figure out this whole new world of caring for my little baby.

We had minimal contact with family and friends, since no one knew how contagious this mystery illness was and we did not want to risk getting our newborn baby sick.

Needless to say, I was doing a LOT of late night Googling trying to find answers to all the questions I had as a new mom!

While learning how to be a mom in isolation, I also found out my own mom, who I was very close with, had stage four cancer and was given a two year prognosis. This led me to spend as much time with my own mom as I possibly could (I would isolate and take Covid tests each time before visiting her) throughout the rest of my maternity leave. When my daughter was 15 months old, I went back to work full-time as a teacher and had to figure out the balance of being a mom and working full-time.

In the fall of 2022 we welcomed our twin boys into the world and so began my twin mom journey and mom to three under three. To top it all off, my husband lost his job in the spring of 2023 and decided to start his own company and become self-employed.

I share the journey of the last four years of my life with you, because I want you to know that I have been in your shoes, learning how to be a first time mom, how to be a working mom, how to be a grieving mom, how to be a twin mom, how to be a mom of three little ones, all while trying to maintain a happy, loving home and encouraging my husband to pursue his dreams.

I have always had a passion for sharing my experiences and knowledge with others and decided to bring it online. I hope you understand that I am not trying to be a “know-it-all”, pushy, or judgemental. I just have a desire to create a place to share what I have learned over the last 4 years of my parenting journey and continuing forward into the childhood years of parenting.
